Plaza as a public space, it is the convergence area of urban hub, is the space for people to carry out political, economic, cultural, entertainment and other social activities. In Bakhtin's words, the square refers to the "concentration of all unofficial things, in a world full of official order and ideology as if enjoyed the"extraterritorial power"power, it is always for the"people"all.
In online games, virtual images enjoy realistic rules, which provide unlimited "nourishment" and "freedom" to meet the needs of players. From point A to point B in the path of repeated movement, the artist virtual reality of the square as a wild area in the game, in the square from point A to point B repeated movement.
At the same time, this project is also the nomadic state of the artist himself. Each square is a new "grassland" for artists, moving randomly in different squares around the world. To set itself as an ideological process, there is a movement of resistance.
广场作为一个公共空间，它是城市枢纽汇集区域，是人们进行政治、经济、文化，娱乐等社会活动的空间。用巴赫金的话来说广场就是指“集中一切非官方的东西，在充满官方秩序和官方意识形态的世界中仿佛享有’治外法权’的权力，它总是为‘人民’所有的。
在网络游戏中，以虚拟的形象享有着现实的规则，它为满足玩家需求提供无限的“养料”与“自由”之地。由A点到B点的路径中反复的运动，艺术家把现实中的广场虚拟成游戏中的野区，在广场上由A点到B点反复运动。
同时，这个项目也是艺术家自身的游牧状态。每一处广场对于艺术家来说，都是一个新的“草原”，随机在世界不同广场运动。把自身设定为意识形态化的程序，发生一场场抵抗的运动。

“Square” is Song’s on-going art project. Song brings the “wild area” in video games to the public space, squares, in the real world, and simulates himself as “monster” from video games continuing moving repeatedly from point A to B in square. Song is using the metaphor of “rulesof the game” to discuss the idea of “liberty”. “Square”, as an on-going art project, will continuously occur in public city squares around the world.
《广场》作为艺术家宋兮正在进行的持续性作品，选定了在沈阳的标志性广场进行录制拍摄，使其具有特定的地域性与时效性。宋兮将游戏中的“野区”搬到现实生活中的公共空间——广场，而艺术家本人也模拟游戏中的“怪”，在广场上选取A点到B点反复运动，将自身设定成一种程序，无限重复同一路径。宋兮借助虚拟世界中的“游戏规则”，来探讨其对“自由”的思考。《广场》这一系列作品将会在全世界的不同城市广场中发声。
